FONTAINE
mirror, f.r.p., ceramic
from the left: 45 Ø x 80 cm, 61.5 Ø x 56 cm, 45 Ø x 49 cm
Numbers are used in this work to note a symbolic outcome of human culture.
Each ceramic piece of the "Fountain" is burned at high temperatures, and its outer surface is covered with numbers from 0 to 9. Every single piece is unique, there are no identical ones.
We human beings are born with the same physical structure, but no one lives the identical life
of another human being.
The inner surface of the "Fountain" is covered with random mirror pieces, to bring about a space of endlessly reflecting light. Our never-changing wish is put it into the infinite light.
Reflected lights splash out into space when a beam of light is shot inside the "Fountain".
